3 day fruit cleanse.

So......... this summer I plan to be newly natural and one of my personal requirements was to lose weight! I feel like I have a chunky face and althought I love my big cheeks, but I do want a more defined jaw line. (I know I'm not the only one!)

Diets are apart of my life. Im constantly on some type of food restriction, ALWAYS!

Exercise is very "ugh" with me aswell. Alot of the time I will find something that I REALLY enjoy doing but for some reason or another I will stop. I.e., cycling, pilates, running etc. Of course it starts with one day then before I know it I'm not doing it anymore.

Obviously none of these things have worked. I've come to realize this because I lack consistency, because overall I am happy with my body.

Ive been ^^^^^^^^^^^ this size since like middle school, not a good thing. So it took some getting used to, to appreciate what I have.

The only thing I do LONG for is killer abs!

Anywho..........a friend on twitter did this cleanse and she sent me over an email from Dr. Oz just on fruits and how, why and which ones to eat. From that information she looked up cleanes and decided to do one for 3 days. Following hers I decided to do one aswell.

Heres a brief overview what I did:
*Combined with the cleanse I also run about 2 miles at night, followed by lunges, squats and a abs routine I found online.

Went to a local market that sells organic fruit.

(You can buy regular fruit but I chose to do this first cleanse organically.)

I just bought a host of fruits that I enjoy. (The market is far from my house so I had to make sure I bought enough for 3 days, but didnt over spend.)

Another essential part of the cleanse is fruit juices. I hate juice...but I bought 3 Naked brand drinks. One for each day.

(I think they are overpriced but everyone in my house LOVES them and says they are truly authentic.)

The first morning I ate:

(I put them in cups because I sit at a computer and its easy to pull from there.)

*DISCLAIMER!

Although organic foods are better for you, they are lacking alot of the taste most of us are used to!
For example: you see those beautiful RED strawberries?? They were bitter as a lemon!

The remainder of that day I ate an orage, tangerine, and a few more grapes.
End of day 1: I didnt feel hungry, I had more enegy and a SLIGHT headache but still had a strong run.

The second morning I ate:

By the morning my headache had been worse and I needed a BC!

The remainder of that day I took TWO more BC's (Because of my headache) and ate 2 more bananas, and an orange with a few grapes.

By the end of day 2 I had gotten rid of most of my headache and actually had a great run!

By Day 3 I was just excited to be "FREE". While I was eating just organic fruit everyone else in my house continued with their diets. (,-_-)

That morning I had a single banana. I attempted to eat the pineapple but the taste was soooooooooooooo bitter that I chucked it into the fridge.

(Im not certain if the lack of sugary foods fooled my taste buds but the food I thought was very bitter my family thought other wise. Also by day 2 those organic grapes gave me cottonmouth with every bite, while my parents said they were perfectly fine. Just an observation.)

I didnt eat anything through the day, surpsingly I wasnt about to die of starvation! ( I had a busy day so barely noticed I hadnt eaten).

Since the pineapple (that I had been purposefully saving for my third day) had turned out soo horribly I had my mother pick up a cantaloupe from Publix (not organic) and when I got home I ate 2/3s of this.

And that was allI ate.

By the end of the third night I had been SUPER bloated, so I didnt run. (my legs probably needed a rest!)

As for the juice protion of my cleanse:
I drunk 2 sips out of the Naked Drink and gave the rest to my dad and sister, I couldnt drink it!

Final outcome was a loss of 7 pounds, a super increase in energy and new pattern of eating!

-The cleanse isnt for weight lose, its just an added incentive. It can laso be lost quickly afterwards!

I feel as though I didnt correctly do the cleanse, because:

-I skipped out on the very important fruit juices.
- I didnt eat enough.
-I didnt drink enough

When this is done correctly it should result in a pretty intense bowel movement, "bubble guts", I didnt get this, which makes me realize I did something wrong.

I plan on doing this monthly (like the young lady, @missfortyseven, who told me about this is) and next time I will NOT buy organic fruit. I will stick to Publix produce which will probably cost me more (cost about 30 for the three days!)because of the TASTE of the fruit. It will make it more bearable to eat. Also I will focus on my liquid intake.

AS far as maintaing what I did lose?

I'm going on a 1500 +/-calorie a day diet and sticking to my exercise regimen.

I'm confident Im going to be consistent because my older sister has been thriving on the diet and I told myself I will NOT BC if I dont maintain good weight and I REALLLLYYYYYYYYYYY want to BC!

Until next time :)...
